Social media
- My top five tips for financial advisors dipping their toes in the Twitterverse -- This was by far the most popular post on my blog. It was summarized on eFinancial Careers as "A Twitter Cheat Sheet" and probably brought me to the attention of the writer who interviewed me for a CFA Magazine article on social media.
- My top 10 tips for LinkedIn newbies who want to attract financial clients, referrals, and jobs
- To dear or not to dear in your email -- The poll that accompanied this post changed my email behavior. It made me more aware of how popular "Hi" has become as an email greeting. My default is still to address recipients by their first name, as in "Susan." However, if they lead off with "Hi, Susan," I try to reciprocate.
- Eaton Vance, Evergreen, and FRC on "Communication Strategies for Good Times and Bad"
- Test your business spelling skills
- Bloggers' top two punctuation mistakes
- Fixed income attribution falls short was the most popular post in this category
- "Behavioral Finance: A Three-Part Model for Client Relationships"
- "The Current Financial Crisis: Why did it happen and what is being done?"
I feel that "Dan Fuss: The 50-Year Opportunity in Bonds" deserves mention. Although published in December 2008, it was one of my most popular posts in 2009. It also made the list of Advisor Perspective's top ten most read articles for 2008. It looks as if legendary investors draw readers.
